Well Adjusted: Debut EP «High Functioning»
Well Adjusted, an indie band from Stockholm, releases their highly anticipated debut EP titled «High Functioning.» The Swedish band, which includes an Argentine member, has just launched their awaited EP. This material, recorded in the Stim Music Room, mixed by Alexander Eldfors, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg, features 5 songs that capture frustration, doubts, and tense relationships with sharpness and sensitivity in a dreamy passage driven by guitar. With influences from shoegaze, garage, and dreamy indie pop, «High Functioning» becomes a journey through late nights, restless thoughts, and relationships teetering between hope and decay. It’s about the human condition in the modern world: dealing with isolation, bad relationships, defense mechanisms, «and a very sexist sound technician.» Life experiences turned into songs that invite reflection and connection. The acclaimed single So Sick captures the feeling of being trapped in destructive patterns. Hang the Sound Guy delivers raw energy and frustration, addressing sexism and disrespect. Falling is about being on the outside looking in, trying to belong, but feeling like a stranger, while Blooming is about obsessing over regrets from failed relationships and having such different perspectives on issues that communication between them seems impossible. The EP concludes with Oh Honey, where sparkling melancholy and garage-tinged rock merge into a song about being attracted to someone you know is bad for you, but still can’t let go. Well Adjusted builds on the momentum they’ve created with their previous releases, and here they offer a demonstration of their ability to create music that truly feels authentic. With their debut EP, they solidify their place as one of Sweden’s most interesting indie bands at the moment.
